Smaksnotat - 2004

The grapes come from an old vineyard still on original rootstock in our Barrancas estate, department of Maipo (the home of Argentine Malbec). Soft crushing leaves many grapes whole, and the maceration takes 18 days at 27C. After a malolactic fermentation it is given a quick touch of oak of not more than six months, to be quickly bottled and stacked for 6-10 months before being sold. Red with a slightly slate meniscus; clean, direct aroma of plum, mulberry and nuts and a sustained aftertaste of red fruit on an oak base. Vinen er en liten skuffelse, mangler friskhet og frukt i smaken.
